Northants 4×4 Response (N44R) is a registered charity that provides logistical support to the Emergency Services, healthcare services and other user bodies throughout the county in times of adverse weather and emergencies.
We are looking for new volunteers for our Control and Dispatch team, an essential part of the Charity on all call outs and exercises. The role will include communicating with service users, planning resources, allocating work to responders and dispatching them to their respective jobs – also welfare checks and ensuring tasks have been completed.
Depending on the type of call out the control duties may be carried out from home with a laptop and phone, or in a control room/field control with other agencies in a large scale incident.
The nature of the charity’s work involves very short notice call outs, so flexibility is preferred as N44R can be called upon 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All time given is valuable, and as a volunteer you will only be expected to work when you can spare the time.
