The annual Wild & Woolly Motocross race is a regular fixture in many people’s calendars, and is a major sporting event in the county. Over Christmas we received a request for support from the organisers. As the event is in aid of charity, we were happy to help and deployed a group of ten Responders, who gave up their Boxing Day to attend.
Working in conjunction with the organisers and stewards, we worked to get vehicles in to the site ahead of the race’s start.
Once the event was over, our volunteers then worked to help people leave safely. Unfortunately not everyone cooperated, which led to vehicles getting stuck and needing extra assistance, but everyone got off site safely and our team of volunteers was stood-down mid-afternoon.
Thank you to everyone for their patience and for their kind donations to the Charity; it really is appreciated.
